| Customer Reviews: Cute concept- defective? January 5, 2010 EMs (Washington) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this for my three year old daughter... unfortunately, ours must have been defective? We put in brand new batteries and it worked when my husband tried it out. However, when my daughter tried to use it, it would not work. I checked the batteries, and for whatever reason, it had caused a leak in the batteries. I wiped the inside of the compartment, put in new batteries again, and it did the same thing after being able to use it for about 5 minutes. I returned this item and will probably stick with a plain old not so hungry piggy bank instead.
on the small size but very cute August 12, 2009 Ana Delgado (South Gate, California) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Not sure how long it will last since I just got it but it is quite fun to feed the little piggy. My 5 year old loves earning his pennies, nickels and dimes for doing chores around the house and putting his coins in the pig seems to be a reward in itself. He says the pig is hungry and he needs to feed it. The pig is quite small however and the compartment to hold the coins is very very small. If you are looking to really use this as a savings bank I would recommend you buy something else. If you are like me and are using it to store small amounts of change that will be taken out on a regular basis to "buy" privileges (watching T.V., etc) then this would work out for that. It is easy to remove the money by opening a compartment under the pig. You just have to turn it off so the pig won't keep trying to eat. Sometimes when you turn the pig over some of the coins fall out through his mouth onto the floor so you have to be careful. The pig does make pig like noises. Not overly loud in my opinion. You can see the pig in action on youtube.
