I bought this to work with my preschoolers during occupational therapy sessions. The different critters are very motivating to make and the pop beads are not too stiff to push together-nor are they too loose to make it too easy for them. They are just what I wanted!

My 4 yo loves building things with beads so we got this for his birthday. My only criticism is in the packaging. The book is pretty useless. The first 2 pages give kids some nice ideas about different creatures they can build, and the rest of the book is just backdrops for the creatures to play on. The beads are stored in a really flimsy plastic case that is attached to the book. We ended up taking the beads out and putting them in a tupperware to store. I don't think we'll ever use the book again.
All things considered, these are great beads: colorful, not too small, easy to snap together and pull apart for preschool aged kids. I still recommend this as a nice toy.

My 3 and 5 year old both play with these for hours. They love to build with them. I had to order the extra beads directly from Klutz as they needed more to share - as much as 3 and 5 year olds share. They play with them in the car, in church and a lot at home. Great quiet toy and great for their imaginations. They used the book for about 15 minutes to get the concept but then have never used it sense. I would buy again in a minute and plan to buy in the future for gifts for this age children. Beads are small so would not be good until child is out of "everything in the mouth" phase.
